After losing 9 seniors, the ADS are a fairly young team, but managing to adjust very well. Building team chemistry between the receiving core and a teams QB is very crucial in order to create a dominating offense. Danville's starting quarterback, Zach Dampier, is fully aware of this and said "The younger receivers and I have been been throwing routes all of June, we've just gotta spend a lot of time together and get to know each other more. That's key if we want to see success."
Dampier will be heading into his senior year, with this being his 4th and final year of being the ADS quarterback. Shining from the start of his freshman year, Dampier's talents stood out early to Danville's Coach Clevenger. Dampier has always had a noticeably strong drive for success.
"Going into senior year I'm excited for a lot of things. I'm really looking forward to my high school career really coming to a climax and hopefully having my best year so far. I think we did pretty good at our first 7v7. We've got some things to work on, don't get me wrong, but I am pleased" Dampier said.
The ADS will be heading to Mercer Co. tomorrow morning for another 7v7 with more to come next week. Admiral fans get excited, this season will be a good one!
