Saturday evening was a special time for the fans of Big Blue Nation. A reported crowd of 19,183 fans came to watch four Wildcats play alongside and against one another.
The Sacramento Kings ended up pulling out the win over the New Orleans Pelicans. The Kings have former Cats- Rajon Rondo (#9), DeMarcus Cousins (#15) and Willie Cauley Stein (#00). The Pelicans also have a former Wildcat, Anthony Davis (#23). The Pelicans fell short and the Kings got the win, with the final score of 107-98.
The Kings got their first lead in the game midway through the 3rd quarter when the score became 83-76. From there the Kings took full advantage and pulled out the win! Davis sat the bench the whole 4th quarter and finished with 19 points, a block, 3 steals, and 8 rebounds. The former Cats seemed to have loved being back and playing again in Rupp.
I really do believe these guys truly appreciate the loyalty and continuous support from the Big Blue Nation! DeMarcus Cousins fouled out in the 4th quarter, but finished strong with 19 points and 5 rebounds. Rookie Willie Cauley-Stein had 7 points and 6 rebounds with Rondo having 3 points and 2 rebounds.
The crowd was electric! Wasn't too long ago UK held their annual alumni charity game, Kentucky fans always enjoy having the alumni back.
